The 98 Seppelt St Peters retailed around the mid $30's on release. It has been sold out for quite some time and from memory some just popped up at auction for around $40.00 a bottle.

HL,

The St Peters 98 is still available if you look hard for around $41, the 99 has been out quite a while with a RRP of $50+ and best price around $38-$40.

The Faber Riche I don't know, mainly cellar door I would imagine, Davo may know as they are in Swan Valley WA.

Faber is a tiny operation in Baskerville which is at the NE end of the Swan Valley. Used to be open for tasting by appointment only but I have never bothered. I have never seen his product on a retail shelf.

He is drawing a pretty long bow comparing the Swan Valley with Rutherglen let alone the Barossa. They may well be classified as hot but the SV would then have to be qualified as stinking hot, just ask Ric what it is like.

Every now and then they have a cooler summer and some pretty good wines turn up, very occasionally they have several in a row, which happened recently from around 95 to 98, and some exceptional table wines get made. Mostly it is stinking hot and the grapes have a very rapid ripening period, almost going from green berries to cooked currants overnight, and the wines taste like it.

I love em when they are good but avoid the region like the plague, except for the fortifieds, usually.

Just my 2c

HL,

They still had some of the 98 St Peters at the winery (the one at Seppetsfield in the Barossa). Give 'em a buzz, you wont be disappointed, as its a great wine.
