Sending My Wine collection to Hong Kong

Post by andyc »

[b[/bI am hoping someone may be able to help me. I have agreed to move to Hong Kong with work and would like to send my modest collection of around 220 bottles with me. The company I am working for has agreed to send the bottles via temp controlled container biut I believe the duty rates are incredibly high. Does anybody know how I can minimise this duty cost. eg. how strict would they be on the actual cost of these bottles as I don't have any paperwork etc to prove the cost. If anyone can help me I'd be most appreciative.

I live in Honkers and my company did similar. I moved about the same amount of wine, in a container and declared it as personal goods. I was not charged.

Most of my colleagues do/did similar.

I have consumed all the wine so my suggestion is you treble the amount you bring up.

Cany I slip five or six dozen inwith yours? :D
