I spoke to Southcorp Public Relations in Sydney who checked the batch number for their QA program and are arranging a replacement of the wine with the, equally gorgeous, 1999 Seppelt St. Peters Shiraz, which is a satisfactory replacement for the tainted bottle.
The only problem with the process was that the batch number was etched onto the bottle in dark red-purple ink, which was hard to see as the bottle was still 7/8 full of dark red-purple juice
Thanks Seppelt and Southcorp.
