I usually prefer the Rufus Stone McLaren Vale, but then I prefer South Oz to Victorians (and that goes for the wine as well

Chardonnay: A drink you have when there is no RED wine, the beer hasn't arrived and the water may be polluted

Agree, I preferred the McLaren Vale to the Heathcote when I tasted them Saturday at Vintage Cellars. The promoter was promoting Heathcote. Saying how they were much cheaper compared to the likes of Jasper Hill, etc in the area. He even went on to say that it is an early drinking wine whereas the McLaren Vale would need some cellaring time. I then tasted the McLaren Vale and preferred it. I told him of my opinions, he tried the McLaren Vale and agreed. Seems the McLaren Vale needs some time to open up.

Interesting ... I preferred the Heathcote, although its not a Jasper Hills alternative being really essentially medium bodied, but very good I thought.
That said, I tried the McLaren Vale without any air time. Found it had all the right things in the right places but lacked interest ... perhaps two or three hours would have changed that??
