I didn’t know you could use it on solo bottles ! Normally it’s 6 packs? Good buy though !

Went to Wantirna Estate a couple of Saturdays ago to pick up my annual mixed dozen and to try them and loved them.
Been on mailing list since 1999 and the only wine I still buy, maybe a couple bottles of fortified now and then.

3 X 2024 Isabella - Chardonnay.
3 X 2023 Lily - Pinot.
4 X 2023 Amelia - Cabernet Merlot.
2 X 2023 Hannah - Cab Frank Merlot. Only 1 barrel, 288 bottles made per year.

Cheers Con.

2 x Yalumba Galway Pipe Tawny Port. From auction. Made before label was sold by Yalumba to a big name winery (Wolf Blass I think) that trashed it using name for cheap crap ports. These old Yalumba bottles are a bit hit and miss but well worth the misses. Good bottles can be great. Still have one with volume measurements in pints and fluid ounces. Probably from 1970s. Previous old bottlings have been lovely. Who says tawny ports don't age.

There is a Lindeman's 1940 Madeira floating around one of the auction houses. Think a bid of $200 still saw it passed in. Wonder if it's worth a punt or could be completely stuffed.

Hi Craig.

I opened one of these maybe 10 years ago and it was stuffed so I haven’t looked at another one since. Not worth a punt for the price from my experience with it anyway.

Cheers Con.

Thanks Con, I believe these old Madeira wines just loose freshness, are stale and or badly oxidised.
Yes the bid was around $240 and counting.
Probably a safer bet with an older Tawny, VP or a Muscat.

Cheers Craig

I got three magnums of Cappellano Barolo Rupestris 2020.

A mixed six pack of Albino Rocca 2021 single vineyard Barbarescos.

Bought in HKG like the old days! So significantly cheaper than local pricing.

First time posting gents, looking for people that share my hyper fixation.

Bought a case of the 2023 Howard Park Scotsdale Cabernet. Drinking well now but from experience the Howard Park reds do age really well.
