The palest of light straw but quite bright. Nose a little reticent at first, opening up with swirling to reveal an attractive grapefruit, lime, slate and mineral bouquet. The palate is tight yet powerpacked with crunchy lime and grapefruit meshed to perfectly integrated, rapier-like acidity followed by an explosive, mineral-laden, almost steely, 30+ second finish. This is young Oz Riesling at its best. The balance/structure of this wine enthrals me. Rated Excellent, now, with an Outstanding rating virtually guaranteed some years down the track. I'll try not to touch another one for 3-4 years.
