VinoVault Fridges

Post by scozia »

Hi,

I recently purchased a VinoVault wine fridge - the 54 bottle (B145, single zone), new from the NSW retailer. I notice though, that the internal fan comes on very very frequently - I was sitting in the same room last night and timed it; it comes on for 15secs then off for 10secs then back on again. It does this continuously! Note, i'm talking about the internal fan - not the compressor. The unit was on for the day and it got to the set temperature (20C) ok within a couple of minutes. The room temp was approx 23C and the fridge was empty without the door being opened all day.

I would expect the fan to come on every so often - maybe every 20min or so - but this seems extreme! Does anyone else have one of these (or other VinoVault fridge) and can comment on what theirs does? I'm just concerned it's a fault with the unit.

Thanks,
Charlie

Fill it up with wine - leave it for a week and then see what it's doing. Wine fridges do least work when they are full of wine and most when empty. It'll take a few days for the wine to get down to 18 degrees or whatever temperature u want it to be eventually.
If you can remember what a wine is like the next day you didn't drink enough of it

Not a vinovault, but my Vintec 50 bottle does exactly as you describe, even more often in fact! Normal operation. Annoyingly often, but not a fault. The airflow helps keep an even temperature top to bottom, but wish it was on slowly all the time, rather than on for 5 secs then off for 5 secs, 24 hours a day!

I have a fondis unit and the fan runs 24/7.
Nothing is so effective in keeping one young and full of lust as a discriminating palate thoroughly satisfied at least once a day.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I feel a bit a bit better knowing other units have similar behaviour! Guess it's working normally then; just a bit annoying.

>TiggerK: i was actually looking at Vintec models before! Maybe glad i didn't go for it - although i guess they're much in the same.

>Luke W: yep - i have filled it up (in about 3 'lots') but it doesn't change.

Thanks again.
