The Auswine Forum

I remember buying this bottle and then drinking and painting it. It was a long time between start and finish. I know I enjoyed it but have difficulty expressing myself. Just finished this one last night.

Thank you Craig. I think I've improved slightly, (I hope).

Hi all, those that know me know that I like to paint wine and of course drink it. I don't have the flair or the palette to articulate the intricacies of wine tasting. I do like to paint wine that I have enjoyed, and this is one of them.

Why only SA? From what I gather it's going to cost but why wouldn't each state kick in or is the Australian Good Food Guide "the thing" for the rest of us?

For me it will be a 2019 Chris Ringland North Barossa Shiraz. Has been resting in the decanter for a few hours now. Going to have that with Beef Bourguignon.

Hi all, I am sad to see everyone being so fatalistic about the future of the forum ... I don't think it is dead quite yet. (and I think most of the time we all play nice, with just the occasional "handbags at dawn") Well just to let you all know, I have been talking with Gavin and I have ...

Hey Gavin, I did post this elsewhere but not everyone might find that, so I'll post it here. Thanks for the heads up. I have run a few forums in my time and I can't say that it has ever been that much fun. One of those forums is still going and costs the owners a fair bit to run. I gave one away whe...

Hey Gavin, Thanks for the heads up. I have run a few forums in my time and I can't say that it has ever been that much fun. One of those forums is still going and costs the owners a fair bit to run. I gave one away when solicitors started jumping all over it threatening legal action (defamation) and...

Master somm. Heats it up, straight in.
Watch the very end as he presents a failed attempt at opening a wax seal.

Interesting vid, thanks Scotty.

I've never had any drama with wax. I just cut around the top like a would a metal or plastic capsule, put the corkscrew in and the whole lot comes out nicely.

Wow and happy birthday.

Had the same problem. Ordered from Perth and it took 21 days to get over here. I contacted the courier and asked if they were wondering where it had all gone wrong from them. They tried to suggest that 21 days was fine. I suggested they put the vendor's address in to Google and then mine. I suggeste...

Drinking litres of Aussie wine instead I hope.

Thank you.

Latest work hot off the easel (Available). The red, dark colours and the pale really make this painting pop for me. Trust you like it. [img]https://scontent.fsyd9-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/p526x296/232053555_125147836510334_1707098252009362185_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=825194&_...

Very busy man if he is.

Thank you Michael. Has been too long.

Bit rich even if I'd like to hear my Peter, Paul and Mary single, "If I had a hammer" again.

Thank you. I'm receiving better comments about this painting than one I did several years ago so I must be getting better. Chris must be one of the busiest blokes in Australia. The bottle shown in the painting took about three years to get. He'd remember and then run out of time to post it.... ten t...

Thank you Scotty. Yeah, blue and black and complimentary moods are they.

Not quite. I have one empty Three Rivers Shiraz bottle that took me several years to extract from Chris. He's actually posting another one today. Years ago I traded him a few paintings for his wine. He was extremely generous as I have always found him to be and so I got the better part of the deal. ...

Hahahaha. Surely you jest Jamie. Unfortunately, I'm not in the correct fiscal group to actually TRY this wine

I was blessed that I swapped a painting for a few CR out of Chris's cellar. For my tastes, they really are up there with my first choice.

Haven't posted for a while but back behind the easel after a few health issues.

Had another stab at Chris Ringland's signature wine.

Regards
Rob

You reckon the Sir Les Patterson stains all over the place would have made the painting highly saleable like the Kramer eh?

Thank you. For me that made it more personal.

Thanks Tim.

Finished another one the other day. Deals with my home brewed wine and the level of sophistication... essentially none. Enjoyed the whole process of finding and collecting: conglomerate cork, seriously cheap corkscrew, pub style wine glass etc., etc. [img]http://robkennedy.gallery/images/stilllife/h...
