Oxidised or just past it?

Opened a 1998 Turkey Flat Semillon last night and it was oxidised - yuk. Earlier this year opened my last bottle of the 1997and it was oxidised

. Only one bottle of the 1998 left in the Cellar - Has anyone else tried either of these recently? Have I just been hit by random or is (was now its a blend) it only a three year wine? My initial impressions were it should have been a 5 to 10 year wine

An update - following the two bottles as mentioned above the remainder went in the drink now rack - opened another 1998 Turkey Flat Semillon last night. Was a little disjointed when first opened but a little while in the glass evolved into a pleasant drink. Nevertheless not going any further, drink up.
Do you believe the score Halliday gave the Turkey Flat Semillon Marsanne in the top 100?!

Yep, although JH seems to be moving from a base of 75 to 80 or so. I like this wine. Don't think it's a keeper beyond 3-4 years but earlier vintages with more semillon were probably less ageworthy. It's neither a Hunter sem not a Tahbilk marsanne but the 02 marsanne/semillon is a very good wine, silver medal quality at least and a welcome change in the gob from chard, ssb, sbs, riesling, even the venerable Tahbilk mars. If TF continue it's development as the vines grow older, this wine could become a classic. I've reckoned the same for Cullen's Mangan. Had a couple of btls of the 01 but it was not of the same quality of the 02.
Try the 02, I'd be surprised if you were disappointed, but be realistic about the cellaring potential of any wine.
