Found a bottle in the cellar this afternoon. Oliver says best 1997 till 2005. Anybody tried it? Thinking of having it tonight b4 dinner.

It drank very well. The '84 should be good to drink now. Would not wait too long.

Had the 84 Elizabeth a few months ago, and it was a beauty. I imagine the Lovedale would be infinitely better.

Tried the 1984 Lovedale last night and was disappointed. Not quite flabby but close to it. Very light citrus although what flavour there was did last on the palate.
Tried a 96 Orlando Jacaranda Ridge next. Lovely chocolate and liquorice flavours. Very thick full flavoured mouth feel but unfortunately died immediately on the palate. No length at all.
Next was a Moss Wood Pinot 1997. Far more flavour and great length but tasted more like a Grenache than a pinot.
