It has been such a very long time since a group of us got together for a casual dinner/tasting.

Is anyone keen? If so theme/venue suggestions welcome.

I’d be keen to join a local ADL offline as long as we all provided high-quality or interesting wine. Easy to do as wine lovers?

Not so keen if I have to drink Cellarone specials.

Also interested in an All offline. Agree with Jamie, would be good if the wines are high quality, interesting and/or old from my point of view. Could be new world, old or combo. Bai Long Store might be a venue option, Jerri there takes care of wine. T-Chow also a fave.

1990 vintage would be a great theme but I’ve just finished all mine . 1990 HofG versus 1990 Grange always something I wanted to do.

Any ideas to attract the Adelaide high-rollers?

I've got stuff all '90 left in the cellar, just some Bin90A

Just checked CT and I’ve one bottle of the Bin 90A left an a bit of Wendouree.

There was a great cellar that went up for auction a few months ago had a lot of 1990. Wish I went long as the wines in decent condition.

In retrospect, I think 1990 was the pick of the nineties vintages for SA, and particularly the Barossa. Probably narrowly in front of 91. The better wines from both vintages are still drinking superbly and have plenty of life left.

I agree Mike. Love 1991 and 1996.

A few months ago had a 1990 Elderton Command versus a 1998 Elderton Command and I could not believe the difference in class. The 1990 was amazing and had mystique. The 1998 was brawny and a bit too clumsy for mine.

Seems like not much interest.

I am in the process of recovering from a fairly significant illness.
I haven't had a drink for 6 weeks and probably have another 6 to go.
As for a 90s theme, there's a couple of bottles of Grange floating around somewhere. I had 2 dozen 90 HoG but sold the lot. I think there is a BP or 2 and some Coonawarra.
I'm certainly happy to look at something mid year.

Thanks Ian, it's been a bit of an endurance test, but the focus on recovery and healing seems to be working. I'm remaining positive about it all and yes the wine can wait a bit longer.
It will be strange not having a drink for 3 months... perhaps my Coonawarra palate will be off kilter
