2026 Sami-Odi Offer

Hi all, fraser has emailed his order form a day early for some of the mailing list members. Description below:

It is a pleasure to offer four bottlings for release this year.

Our online ordering system is now open and if this years wines appeal I’d recommend that you place your order and transfer funds at your nearest convenience. Whilst 2024 was a favourable growing season, there are only minimal quantities available and regrettably some will miss out. It would be most appreciated if you could please refrain from requesting additional bottles to your allocation below.

Your maximum order quantity is a total of 12 bottles (4 x 3 packs) within the constraints below:

2024 Sami-Odi ‘Hoffmann Dallwitz’ (Syrah)
A composition of our purist, most individual and prized casks from the delightful 2024 growing season.
Laced together from the two oldest plots within the Hoffmann families sunkissed Eben-Ezer earths; planted on their own roots in 1927 (0.58 Hectare) & the oldest vines between 1888 & 1912 (0.775 Hectare).
Bottles were filled without filtration, fining or sparging (the removal of naturally occurring oxygen & C02) and all transfers were completed via gravity prior to bottling.
This is a quintessential release, filled with soft ripe fruits trussed with a sleek and supple spine. It's open for enjoyment now, though will cellar for as long as your taste desires. It adores air and will continue to unfurl over many days if kept in cool conditions.
Yields ranged between 27 & 41 hectolitres per hectare.
4975 bottles were filled.
Packaged in 3 packs @ $299 per pack - Maximum of 2 packs (6 bottles).

Sami-Odi ‘Little Wine’ #15 (Syrah)
An unvintaged assemblage composed of casks from 2025 (43%), 2024 (24%), 2023 (16%), 2022 (9%), 2020 (2%), 2019 (4%) & 2021 + 2018 + 2017 + 2016 + 2015 = (2%).
Sourced from our five treasured plots within the Hoffmann families ‘Dallwitz’ vineyard from vines planted in 1996, 1995, 1994, 1927 & the oldest vines planted prior to 1912.
There’s a luscious quality to this release which makes for delicious youthful drinking. Enjoy now with decanting or cellar if seeking further tenderness.
6387 bottles were filled.
Packaged in 3 packs @ $209 per pack - Maximum of 4 packs (12 bottles).

2024 Sami-Odi ‘Our Hill’ (Syrah)
Our fifth fruiting season from the rolling hillsides on our home farm located on the South side of Angaston in the Eden Valley.
Assembled from our most prized casks grown on our Eastern facing slopes with a thimble leached from our staked vines grown on the rockiest section of the property.
Supple, plush & spicy with an added layer of depth to its predecessors. This sports a berries ’n' cream flavour which whilst lovely now, will soften further over the next couple of years.
Yields ranged between 25 & 44 hectolitres per hectare.
1896 bottles were filled.
Packaged in 3 packs @ $249 per pack - Maximum of 1 pack (3 bottles).

Sami-Odi ‘Our Hill’ #1 (Syrah)
Our inaugural unvintaged assemblage grown on our home hillsides.
Yielded from our most delicate and gentle casks from 2025 (23%), 2024 (56%) & 2023 (21%).
Lithe, trim and supple, this is an ideal candidate for enjoying in its youth.
2438 bottles were filled.
Packaged in 3 packs @ $209 per pack - Maximum of 1 pack (3 bottles).

FWIW I ordered 6 HD, 3 LW 15 and 3 2024 Our Hill.

Very jealous - seems to be the thing at the moment with all the wine groups posting about it.

As an aside, what is the vineyard on the home page of the Sami-Odi website? Is it the Our hill vineyard?

Mike on TWF confirmed it is.
I read that there are 30,000 people waiting to get on the mailing list! wbmonline.com.au and search for Sami Odi. That's a world wide interest, surely. And simply amazing.

Yeah I think Sami odi and wendouree in the Australian wine scene are the two most sort after lists. Maybe giaconda also

I hear a lot about standish too but it doesn’t often sell out

Our wine group has visited Fraser a couple of times in the past, and I was on his mailing list and ordered for a couple of vintages maybe 9-10 years ago. For some reason, I disappeared from the mailing list and despite assurances from Fraser that he would put me back on, it didn't happen.

I was lucky enough to get access to all 4 wines, so grabbed 3 of each. I love the fact that Fraser limits it to a dozen wines per customer. As much as I would probably have ordered another 6, it means a lot more people get access to the limited number of wines he makes and no doubts limits the flickers somewhat. When he only makes 1200-1300 dozen and there is about 1600ish on the mailing list and another 20-30000 on the waitlist, it's the fairest way. And he rewards loyalty as well.

I just wish a few other "cult" wineries did the same. I'm looking at you Wendouree and Giaconda.....

Happy New Year to all the Forumites!!

Ian, I understand thoughts re Wendouree. That said, its worked for me for 35 years and the old school approach whilst frustrating at times, suits the operation.
Having to wait for someone to either die, or two, misplace their order form makes it tedious for those who want a bottle or two.
Fraser's system seems to work pretty well....certainly not left with heaps of stock six months after release, like a couple of other "cult" BV operations.
Cheers Craig

Does the winery do an open day for a tasting?

Thank you to whoever alerted Fraser to my above sook. Fraser sent me a nice email today and I’m now back on the list and have ordered some wine!

Thanks Fraser!

That's fantastic Malcolm... good on the Auswine community!
I'm planning to drop in on the February open weekend. I'm sure it will be brilliant just like a similar experience at Standish last year.
Cheers Craig

At this rate I am unlikely to get on the mailing list in my lifetime. I am currently on the waiting list.

How long does it take to be on their mail list normally? Are theses wines are intended for long-term cellaring? Never try it and thinking if I should get one from secondary market. Thanks.

Don't waste time thinking about getting on the mailer...that ship has sailed.
Plenty of flippers and all 4 wines will be available at auction in the next 1-2 months. There will also be bottles from older vintages available.
Starting price will be in the $160+ range plus commission of course.
Cheers Craig

I notice that there is still wine available on the website for the mailing list except for the vintage of our hill, after 6 days open. I also noticed that there is some for auction at Langtons seemingly not bid for. With mailing list size this seems strange.

Thanks. I am on the waiting list but not sure how long it will take. I saw some places sold the Little Wine at sub $160 before. Thinking maybe they would sell it at sub$160 again in the new release.

Agree, very strange. perhaps punters are still on their Xmas Hols.
Or is it the general malaise that is so pervasive in the Australian wine industry now, that anything is available, often later at a reduced price...people not buying the premium labels, people drinking less...yada yada yada.
Cheers Craig

I was on the mailing list until around 2020 I think, but I guess I stopped buying when I moved to France and got left off the list. C'est la vie

Apparently the HD and Little wine are still available...perhaps a polite email to Fraser might get you on the list sooner than later?

All sold out now.

There was never a chance of any of Fraser’s wines not selling out.

They are just incredible.
