Have been thinking lately I need to get some Heathcote Shiraz. Incidentally then I've found both the 2003 and 2004 Heathcote Estate Shiraz in my local bottle-o for a decent price. Any view on which to get? I read some reviews and it seems there isn't much between them, but perhaps the 2004 is the preferred. I'd be buying a few to drink over the couple years.

I haven't tried that particular wine but '04 was regarded as an amazing vintage in Heathcote.

Had you thought of buying one bottle of each and trying them, then deciding which one to stock up on?

I had the pleasure of the 05 recently, it was super. Great style, very long and balanced.

Quite enjoyed the 03 at release - tasted like a grange - last time I tasted it - it is on its way out - the 04 is great at the moment

How can an '03 wine "taste like a Grange" and now be on it's way out?
