For those unaware, Max Allen has inspired a ripper event celebrating this delicious Italian varietal grape, and a great BBQ favourite at our place, grilled sardines.

I stopped in at lunchtime today in Melbourne, and stood in the sun, tasted a great range of 'stralian versions of vermentino (Chalmers, and Trentham Estate turned my head) and munched on sardines. There's another session this evening, then on to Sydney tomorrow.

Well worth a look-in if you're in the neighbourhood.

Nice. Almost as good as Albarino with seared scallops (almost)! haha
