TN: Best’s Great Western Bin No.0 Shiraz 2000

At last a mature Best’s & bought at a decent price. Full of smouldering embers of spicy fruit on the nose, all as sleek as a Bently engine. Intense red fruits with oodles of charm follow in this special creation. All charm, harmony & more than a touch mesmerising elegance. Nicely mellow now with still cleansing acidity. 20 quid (AU$35) well spent. 14%vol. 91pts

Phil, I am surprised your wine did not garner more comment here. You had a healthy response on the UK board.
I no longer post TNs here as there seems little interest in what I have to say. Pity.

Indeed. I'm glad everyone doesn't feel as you do. Posting tasting notes isn't necessarily a thankful task but more a public good. Think of all those on cellartracker posting notes without reply. I hope you revisit your decision.
And Phil, for some reason Bests is off the radar at present so I haven't anything to contribute other than perhaps it is time to revisit.
cheers
Carl

lol. I take it as a given that every Bests red wine they release is going to drink well with a little age on it. I'm a fan.
Their prices have risen somewhat in the last 5 years, but perhaps even now don't match what they're worth.

A tasting note that garners many replies, or not, flummoxes me. I never know from day to day which type or style will attract discussion & why. Best's has always seemed like a rare beast for notes on wine bulletin boards which is the reason I posted here. I'll post about a French Chateauneuf here next...

I tasted a bunch of Bin 0 wines prior to the 2000 vintage that I reported on here a few years back...
