I was given this for Christmas. This is the easiest to use cork remover I have ever had. It works with CO2 and a needle. The needle goes through the cork, press the button and gently pull upward. You then slide downward a piece of chrome on the outside and the cork comes off.
All very good most of the time. Tried to remove the cork from a Tyrrells 2001 Lost Block Semillon, lovely wine. Could not budge it. Got out the trusty "Pull It". This worked well but had a hell of a job getting the cork off the screw.
Anyone else had a problem with these corks? The only one to give me a problem so far.

Hi Mike - your Avanti sounds exactly the same as my Corkpops model(replaceable gas cylinder, opens about 50 or more bottles before getting empty) The real beauty about these is old corks, that would almost certainly core out & crumble if attacked by a screwpull or similar, coming out whole with the gas uplift. I believe it states in the accompanying pamphlet that these units are only to be used with regular old-fashioned corks, not the artificial varieties you often find these days
