G'day
MyattsField was the first winery to import and plant this variety in WA. They've done well with it over the last decade or so.
Deep purple in colour with a ruby rim. The nose is earthy, with blueberries, tobacco, dark plums, spicy oak, peppercorns and a touch of leather.
Durif is known to be big on tannins, and the palate demonstrates this, although they have softened somewhat with age. There's plenty of acid to keep the wine very fresh, and the plum and blueberry fruits are dominant. Medium length.
An interesting wine - although showing signs of development now, there's plenty to indicate a further long life, and I wouldn't be surprised if this goes another 5+ year without difficulty.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
