Wine Tour in Bordeaux

Hi all, I’m hoping to use the brains trust of this forum to help me with potential experience of wine tours in mid August next year. We will be staying in the town of Bordeaux. I am resigned to the fact that we won’t be able to visit the big guns. But I guess other wineries will welcome small bus or car tours?
I am especially disappointed that Pontet Canet doesn’t take interested parties unless you have some thoughts if any guides can do so. They only take in ‘professionals’ apparently.
Any other adventures you can nominate? We will hope to rent some bikes one day but other thoughts would be appreciated.

I’ve previously approached retailers / importers to request on my behalf. Some success in Bordeaux and lots of success in Champagne (everyone ex Salon).

If that doesn’t work out, cognac isn’t too far away…

I am hoping to potentially do this in 2027.
In the current economic climate and wine downturn, you would think after sending an email , writing a letter, that wineries in Bordeaux, Champagne etc. would welcome you with open arms, particularly when you have travelled halfway round the globe...but no.

The exclusivity must be a very hard thing to shake off, ironically at the expense of having less clash flow??

Im not familiar with it all. Are you guys saying that the top chateau’s like first and second growths, don’t take visitors ?
