I have to go to Bahrain for work next weekend and will be stopping in Dubai and Singapore along the way. Can anyone who knows those airports better than I do tell me whether any of them are likely to offer good value on duty free wines?

Agreed. In relative terms I probably earn roughly what my father did when he was my age, yet he was able to buy a half case of Grange in the early 1970s. If I tried to do that now, I wouldn't be able to eat for two months.

I tried this last year and loved it. They do pretty good fortified shiraz, too

Sounds like a lesson to Australian retailers – why bother trying to offer good service, good advice and good prices when you can just be like this guy instead?

I did the one at The Wine Society in Bourke St and thought it was pretty good. I'm not sure whether they have any more coming up this year though.
