Re: 2025 Wendouree Mailer

Yes, I am still waiting, green crayon. Is green crayon more senior to red? I am not quite sure, but I will think red crayon is more senior than green. I have only been on their waiting list for the last 4 years. I received my 1st allocation from Wendouree last year and this is my 2nd allocation. Al...

Re: Rockford Basket Press Vertical

Rossco, I preface my comments that the second hand market in 2025, is dead for most wines. Most wines that punters in SA and Australia are well aware of, e.g. Grange, HoG etc. There are unicorn wines, and niche wines of late that have piqued a little interest. e.g. Giaconda, Sami Odi, early Rockfor...

Re: 2025 Wendouree Mailer

Urgent! I’ve bought an Australia Post express envelope and it asks the traditional place name. Does anyone know the aboriginal name for Wendouree? Seriously? Surely you would just address it to Clare, as usual  I was taking the Micky! Firstly, at those who send the order form back registered ...

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight

Out of a dozen bottles of 2002 and 2004 BP that I have drank over the years, I found they are the best. I am lucky to still have one of each. The last time that I had the 2002 BP was in Jan 2025.

Re: POLL: Would you pay $1,000 for the 2021 Hill of Grace?

The funny thing I find in all of this discussion about premium wine and high costs, particularly Penfolds in my case, how come St H is still relatively cheap? To me it's by far the best value Penfolds wine on offer. I bought some at Magill Estate a week or so ago for $100/b. That is such good value...

Re: Grange La Chapelle

Penfolds have become the poster child for greed in the wine industry. Their products have gradually declined in quality over the decades, but you'd think they are the greatest wines on earth... a tribute to their marketing, which is now identical to the big-house champagnes, who laughably sell pret...

Re: Mystery Wines - why?

They do it so as not to cannibalise price. Lindemans dropped price for the Coonawarra trio in the 90s as did Wynns with JR and Michael for the 98 vintage. Both companies took years to get back to the previous market price. Yes, I do remembered and did bought JR in a few vintages at very low prices....
