Hmmm. You're right. Does anyone know why this occurs?

Mind you, it won't happen with next year's release.

There are many beautiful wine labels out there. Rousseau's Chambertin I particularly like, for it old-fashioned elegance and romanticism. As for the 2000 Mouton and Pichon-Lalande, don't be fooled thinking the Mouton is all beautiful packaging (which it undoubtedly is) and not much substance. The wi...

Can you provide any more info on the Diamond Creek wines (e.g. vintages, tasting notes etc). I've been a big fan of these wines for many years, although no longer buy due to the extraordinary prices asked ex winery.

Both Cabs are fantastic. The 2000 Coleraine was the runner-up red at Vinexpo in Bordeaux this year - no small feat considering the competition! Powerful, fine-grained, very intense and long finish, needs at least another decade before it will show its best. The 2000 Wantirna Amelia is a more delicat...

Southcorp have re-thought their decision to remove Dorrien from their range, and as such it will be released on a vintage-by-vintage basis. Not sure whether it was consumer feedback or the installation of new management, but a number of their 'rationalisation' decisions have been reversed. I believe...

WSET is the London-based Wine and Spirit Education Trust. They run internationally-recognised wine courses of five levels, of which the Master of Wine is the top (fifth) level. I did the advanced with Tyson last week. Although I haven't spoken with Tyson about its relative worth, I would suggest a w...

Screwpull table model - always. If it's really tricky, you can just use the screw itself to extract the (crumbling) cork.

We had the 2001 Le Sol as a blind wine up against the three 1999 Guigal single vineyards in Brisbane in July/August. The Guigals were the La Turque, La Mouline and La Landonne, each of which scored 100 points from Parker this year and last year, and I think 97, 98 and 99 from Wine Spectator. These a...
