Re: Wendouree Mailer 2026 (24 Vintage)

I got mine delivered. No cab sav but some 24b Shiraz which will be interesting to try at some point. Based on this I'll assume I've missed 24b and Cabernet, shame about the 24b as I've never got it, just happy getting the Cab Malbec and straight Malbec which are my favourites I'm in the same boat. ...

Re: VinoScout – AU wine price search + alerts (beta, feedback welcome)

There's been similar websites around for years, even though yours does scrape the smaller independent wine retailers I can't imagine anyone would pay any fee because most of those retailers are by far not the cheapest way to purchase wine. I mean it's not really doing much more than Google, other t...

Re: VinoScout – AU wine price search + alerts (beta, feedback welcome)

I'd also say, how does this differ to another forum that I am on ( and a few here are on it too), that is based in Canberra and been running for two decades. Cheers Craig Hi Craig, Hard to say without knowing what it is? I'd love to check it out though. I haven't found anything besides winesearcher...

Re: VinoScout – AU wine price search + alerts (beta, feedback welcome)

Hi, how does this differ to winesearcher? Cheers Hi Mike, Fair question. There’s overlap today. Both help you find a wine and see who’s selling it. Wine-Searcher Pro (free tier isn’t really comparable) has to serve everyone, everywhere. That means a huge messy catalogue, sponsored results, and over...

VinoScout – AU wine price search + alerts (beta, feedback welcome)

Hi all and thanks to Sam for giving the okay to post about my project. I’ve been building VinoScout, an Australian site for keeping tabs on wines you’re hunting, with more emphasis on smaller producers and independent retailers than the mainstream big guys. What it does today: Search nearly 6000 win...

Re: Australian Pinot

I get what you mean, Ed. I struggle with the barely there tannin profile in local Pinot as well. It's hard to get excited over and usually doesn't warrant the price for me. That being said, maybe Eastern Peake or one of the single vineyard Pinots from Joshua Cooper? My memory isn't super clear but I...

Re: Bass Phillip Premium Pinot Noir 2024 @ $265/btl. Worth it or not?

In my limited experience, they aren't worth the money. In that price range I'd go Bindi Block 5. Got to try the Bindi next to the BP Reserve a while back and the Bindi smoked it for my tastes. Hard to get past the oak influence in the BP. The Premium doesn't have the same oak treatment but also lack...
