The closest restaurant to me that I know has BP (Black Cow, Launceston) charge $75/glass via Coravin or $350/bottle.

Re: 2025 Wendouree Mailer

I’m still waiting, but only been on the list 10 years, red crayon.

Last few years haven’t really received much of anything I ordered. First 6 or 7 years I was lucky to get everything on my 18 bottle order, quite confused about the whole process.

Houghtons 2010 Gladstones Yum! Oh joy, oh bliss! Positively beautiful wine, and plenty left in the tank. Those who were wise and loaded up on the 2020 version at $35 will be very happy in another 10 years time. If my liver doesn’t pack up by then I will be happy too. This and the Sami-Odi Baby Tui ...

Black Cow is great, Cataract on Paterson’s and Grain of the Silos are also pretty good.

Not made it to Stillwater yet but hope to one day

Re: Launceston overnight visit - food & wine advice needed!

Ghost Rock is much further west near Port Sorrel - worth visiting but not as part of a Tamar trip. If you like Sparkling I recommend Apogee, (East Tamar) they also have a Pinot Noir and are close to Clover Hill - also sparkling. Jansz, another sparkling house do a good tasting and are close to Delam...

Thanks for these notes, I have 3 Margaret’s in my cellar I picked up on a Langton’s sale 6-7 years ago and was thinking it might be time to try my first. Seems I landed on my feet with the ‘14 vintage

Seriously? Surely you would just address it to Clare, as usual

Re: 2024 Rockford Mailer

I was there for a Stonewall lunch two days ago, tasted the current releases after the lunch and thought they were all* a bit more tannic than I expected, including the RR that seems to be liked / rated by many. I put it down to it being rushed and I’d had my fill of wine with a little more age, but ...

Aramex again...why cant people just use Auspost. They wont knock on my door and they will just leave the wine outside. Not so bad at this time of year, but the same happens in the summer months. Aramex doesn’t deliver to my location so they pass it onto another courier who also don’t deliver to me…...

Hellyers Road is in Tassie just near where I live and has been getting good awards. I think you can get some of their range in DM. They have had Peated whiskey in their range but not sure if they are the ones sold in the big chains
