Interested in your terms Jamie...
Bottle for bottle exchange.

Somebody contacted me and I may have misunderstood their offer, but it seemed they were after multiples of GC Burgundy or “elite” Barolo as they called it, per Giaconda.

Hmmmmm….

Incidentally, on the FB page for wine lovers, I offered mature Grand Cru Burgundy as a swap for the latest Giconda. No takers!

Re: Giaconda 2023

I forgot to add has anyone tried the Savaterre and what that is like for a comparison to Giaconda? Savaterre is very good, but not in the same league as Giaconda. Sorrenberg, OTOH, is fabulous and a genuine alternative (if not as reductive). However, that too is extremely difficult to purchase outs...

There seems to be no Rhyme or reason, got hit and delivered weeks ago, got 3 each of the Shiraz, Shiraz mataro and cab malbec, 4 bottles of each would have been better but I've never missed out completely so can't complain!

Re: Grand Cru Wine Fridges

Yikes. Don't think I'll be locating my fridge in a room that gets above 20 degrees (partially below grade and naturally fairly well insulated), but I don't think I can quite get my head around a product which can't achieve some semblance of consistency on internal temperature. It's just not worth t...

Re: December 2022 Purchases.

I'm pretty sure the Swan Valley is the second oldest wine region in Oz behind the Hunter. Its extremely hot in summer, I know Faber have almost had 2 verdhelo vintages in 1 year ie picking 3rd of Jan. The best and oldest producers of fortified are Talijanisch and Kosovich, but other go alright too, ...

NSW red stripe. I ordered 6, CC got hit today for what looks like 4 bottles. Based on the dollars it seems like I missed out on the Shiraz Mataro this year. I rang last week. They've run out of Shiraz Mataro. So has any red striper got their full order? Yep, got my full order delivered last week. 6...

I picked up some stuff at auction: 83, 2*90, 2*93 Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon 1*76 Yalumba Riesling 1*09 Gonon St Joseph + a few bottles bottles of 60’s and 70’s reds from a mixed lot. I like the MW system for bidding, but I really don’t understand why they don’t photograph all the wines. The...
